Confirm the destination before the route

Use your enrolment notice and residence offer to decide the first stop. Campus and the two residence compounds differ. An arrival before the housing period requires separate accommodation arrangements.

Three common destinations
DestinationLocation / address
KLT main campus83 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon; next to Kowloon Tong Station and Festival Walk.
KLT student residenceTat Hong Avenue, accessed from Cornwall Street; follow residence entrance signs.
MOS student residence2 Choi Sha Street, Ma On Shan, Sha Tin; near Wu Kai Sha Station.

For KLT, choose campus or residence

One rail route is Airport Express to Tsing Yi, Tung Chung Line to Lai King, Tsuen Wan Line to Prince Edward, then Kwun Tong Line to Kowloon Tong. Check current services.

For campus, follow Festival Walk/CityUHK signs via Exit C2 and the LG1 underpass. For KLT residence, SRO lists E22 towards Lam Tin (North), alighting at Shek Kip Mei Park, Cornwall Street.

Follow destination signs during changes: at Tsing Yi take Tung Chung Line towards Hong Kong to Lai King; change to Tsuen Wan Line towards Central to Prince Edward, then Kwun Tong Line towards Tiu Keng Leng to Kowloon Tong. For campus, take C2 into Festival Walk, go to LG1 and follow City University signs through the pedestrian underpass. For the halls, walk uphill along Tat Chee Avenue from the underpass area for about eight minutes, or take E22 and alight at Shek Kip Mei Park, Cornwall Street beside the residence.

For E22 from the airport to KLT, board at Airport (Ground Transportation Centre) towards Lam Tin (North), and leave at stop 15, Shek Kip Mei Park, Cornwall Street. The current timetable runs daily from the Sky City terminus at 05:30–00:00, roughly every 12–30 minutes. Airport GTC is stop 2, so those are not exact passing times there. In the official E22 search select Lam Tin-bound service, then Timetable or the airport stop’s arrivals. If a late connection cannot be confirmed, use the official taxi option on this page.

For MOS, head towards Wu Kai Sha

The MOS guide uses Airport Express to Tsing Yi, Tung Chung Line to Nam Cheong, then Tuen Ma Line to Wu Kai Sha. Follow A/A1 to Double Cove Place, through the mall and pedestrian bridge, then residence signs.

A41P also runs from the airport Ground Transportation Centre to Wu Kai Sha Station. Check the operator’s current route, service and baggage arrangements.

At Tsing Yi use Tung Chung Line towards Hong Kong, then at Nam Cheong take Tuen Ma Line towards Wu Kai Sha to the terminus. Follow Exit A signs for Double Cove, then A1 over the footbridge into Double Cove Place. Cross the atrium and take the escalator to2/F, use the bridge on the other side following Student Residence signs, then take the lift or stairs to ground level. A41P also ends at Wu Kai Sha; use the same final walking route.

Arriving by high-speed rail, Lo Wu or Futian: continue to CityUHK

At West Kowloon, go from the B4 platform to B2, complete Mainland departure and Hong Kong entry clearance, then exit to the city connection. For first entry as a student, show the student e-Visa to the immigration officer; a train-ticket check does not validate student immigration status.

The connections below follow the current railway network. Control-point hours are not train last-service times. For Ma On Shan, change at Tai Wai before continuing south to Kowloon Tong. For the main campus, use the C2/Festival Walk LG1 directions on this page.

From Shenzhen Airport follow Metro signs to Airport station. At a station ticket machine choose Luohu and buy an ordinary single ticket for the displayed RMB amount; keep it for the exit at Luohu. Line 11 business carriages require a separate fare, so use ordinary carriages with this ticket. Exit Shenzhen Metro, clear immigration, and pay separately for the Hong Kong connection.

New Huanggang: B12 goes directly to Wu Kai Sha

The new Huanggang Port opened on 12 October 2026. After clearance follow Hong Kong Public Transport Interchange signs to 2/F and find the required bus bay. The old Yellow Bus and passenger inspection at the old Hong Kong Lok Ma Chau road control point have stopped. B10/B12 run daily 06:00–00:30 next day; the port itself is open 24 hours.

After bus or railway service ends, use the official taxi stands at the same interchange: an urban red taxi for Kowloon Tong; an urban red or eligible New Territories green taxi for Ma On Shan. Show the full hall address on this page, pay the meter and applicable luggage/surcharges, and obtain a receipt. Peak measures from 17–19 October 2026 include extra departures and managed queues; follow the B10/B12 destination signs.

Check these land-arrival hours before departure

Immigration’s hours checked on 17 October 2026: Lo Wu 06:30–24:00; Lok Ma Chau Spur Line/Futian 06:30–22:30; West Kowloon high-speed rail 06:30–23:30; Heung Yuen Wai/Liantang 07:00–22:00. Huanggang is listed as 24-hour clearance, which does not imply overnight railway or University transfers.

These ordinary-class adult Octopus single fares were read from the matrix currently linked by MTR on 17 October 2026. The filename retains FAM2024, while the PDF was created on 17 September 2026. They exclude Shenzhen transport, the high-speed ticket and taxis and are not paper single-ticket prices. Student concessions exclude Lo Wu/Lok Ma Chau journeys. B8-plus-rail totals add both legs without further discounts.

Check transport and service hours on the day

From West Kowloon to MOS, follow signs to Austin Station and take Tuen Ma Line towards Wu Kai Sha. For other control points, check opening and connecting transport; do not assume round-the-clock operation.

University airport pickup uses specified dates and registration. The advertised 24–25 August 2026 service has ended; do not assume a standing free shuttle. Confirm residence arrangements for late/night arrival.

Reaching the halls does not complete check-in. Kowloon Tong main and Hi-Bye entrances open24 hours; Hall10 entrance07:00–23:00. Bring student card/travel document, pre-registration passcode and offer to the reception/security specified by your permission. For late arrival or the wrong compound, contact KLT residence3442 1111 or MOS3442 1200; on-site security is KLT3442 1999 or MOS3442 1000. State your name, allocated compound and arrival time and obtain a concrete reception arrangement.

  1. Confirm the final connection before boarding

Check whether the destination is campus, KLT or MOS. Verify service and last departures for every connection, rather than only Airport Express or border hours. With heavy luggage or no public transport use the official taxi rank and full address.

  2. Confirm approved check-in and reception

Prepare the offer, pre-check-in PassCode and student card/travel document. For a late/delayed arrival call KLT 3442 1111 or MOS 3442 1200 with location and time. If unable to enter on arrival, contact that residence’s 24-hour security.

  3. Complete handover at the correct residence

Show the documents to reception/security at your allocated residence, confirm room/bed, collect the card and test access. If at the wrong location, contact SRO to confirm the destination.

Prepare payment and a fallback for late arrival

These adult single-fare references were checked on16 October2026. Consult departure-time notices for diversions or suspensions. Rail and daytime buses are not guaranteed overnight. With heavy luggage or after last services, use the official airport taxi stand and show the Chinese destination below. Use an urban red taxi for Kowloon Tong; ask stand staff about an urban/New Territories taxi serving the Ma On Shan destination. Pay the metered fare plus applicable toll/baggage charges and request a receipt.
